Job Summary:
The seasoned CNC Set Up Machinist is responsible for operating, programming, and maintaining CNC machines to produce precision components according to engineering specifications. This job requires expertise in CNC machining, attention to detail, and commitment to quality by ensuring the efficiency and accuracy of our manufacturing processes. The CNC Set Up Machinist should have extensive hands-on experience with a deep understanding of CNC machining technologies and a proven track record of delivering high-quality, complex components.
Essential Job Functions:
• Operate a CNC machine to produce high-precision components within specified tolerances.
• Complete complex machine set-ups by loading necessary tools, inputting program codes, and securing work pieces.
• Monitor machine operations and make adjustments as needed to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Perform routine maintenance on the CNC machines to ensure optimal performance.
• Inspect parts during production runs and finished products for accuracy and quality, making necessary adjustments as required.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot and resolve any machining and programming issues.
• Familiarity and ability to work with a variety of materials, including metals and plastics.
• You should possess expertise and thorough understanding in interpreting part prints, dimensioning, as well as tolerance.
• Edit G Code programs on various machines and able to program.
• Prove out and edit programs written in G Code.
• Interpret complex engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Experience 3rd axis, 4th axis, 5th axis, vertical milling machines.
• Innovate and implement tooling solutions for challenging machining tasks.
• Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measuring instruments.
• Collaborate with quality teams to develop and refine inspection processes.
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Required Qualifications:
• High school or diploma or equivalent required.

• Must be able to move/transport up to 40 pounds at times.
• Must be able to bend, stretch, and squat to access all parts of the machine.
Working Conditions
This job is usually accomplished in an indoor workshop environment. Activities may include climbing, standing, stooping, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching, and walking demands. May require lifting of objects whose weight normally will not exceed 50 lbs. Special vision abilities required to perform this job are close and peripheral vision, and acceptable depth perception. Noise levels range from quiet to extremely loud.
