Hose Production Machine Operator (Tube Mill, Frankie, and Hydroformer)

Machine Operator duties and responsibilities

The primary duties of the machine operators are use their mechanical and operational experience across a variety of PLC controlled tube forming and hose forming machines to enhance productivity of the organization. The operator must be able to perform a wide range of setups, monitor machine output, perform quality checks and be able to trouble shoot and make adjustments and corrections as needed. The key functions, duties and responsibilities are outlined as follows:

For all machine types:

โ€ข Reading and understanding blueprints/drawings prior to starting a project

โ€ข Read and understand the PLC control and inputs required to operate each machine

โ€ข Sourcing the materials to be used in the project and correctly documenting heat numbers, purchase orders and other information required for traceability

โ€ข Translate the requirements of detailed part drawings into measurements for production

โ€ข Perform proper set-up and calibration procedures for all equipment and accessories to be used on projects

โ€ข Ensure that every machine procedure is documented and completed in accordance with the process procedure or work instruction

โ€ข Follow all company and machine safety protocols

โ€ข Inspect the work area and machines used each day to make sure the area is clean, safe and process ready for each operation
