Job Summary

This job contributes to the development of AI-enabled product capabilities that bring intelligent automation and decision support into FreeWheel's applications. Working under the guidance of senior engineers, the role helps build, test, and improve AI-powered features and services while learning how AI capabilities are delivered at scale in production environments.

Job Description

Contributing to the development of AI-enabled product features and workflows. Building and maintaining software components that integrate AI capabilities into applications. Assisting in the implementation of LLM-, agent-, or machine learning-based solutions under guidance from senior engineers. Participating in testing, evaluation, and monitoring of AI-powered features. Working with product and engineering teams to implement requirements and deliver functionality. Troubleshooting defects and performance issues in AI-enabled applications. Learning and applying engineering best practices for production-quality software development. Contributing to technical discussions and team design reviews. Supporting continuous improvement of AI capabilities across products. Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

1-2 years of software engineering experience or equivalent internship/co-op experience. Programming experience in Python or similar languages. Understanding of software engineering fundamentals, data structures, and system design concepts. Exposure to AI, machine learning, LLMs, or agent-based systems through coursework, personal projects, or professional experience. Familiarity with cloud platforms and modern development practices. Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities
  • Writing and maintaining efficient code for software components, adhering to best practices in development
  • Supporting the design and development of new software applications aligned with business objectives
  • Implementing testing frameworks for software validation, including unit and integration tests, to ensure quality
  • Documenting the software development process, including design and deployment procedures, to facilitate knowledge sharing
  • Analyzing software integration needs and planning system architecture to meet technical specifications
  • Reviewing current practices and technical literature to inform project solutions and applying engineering methodologies
  • Working with Quality Assurance to ensure applications meet technical requirements and fit specifications
  • Troubleshooting software issues, providing resolutions to enhance application performance and user satisfaction
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance
  • Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary

Virginia Pay Range: $101,875.02 - $152,812.53 Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience.
