Full Steam Staffing is hiring a Senior Logistics Manager! We are seeking an experienced logistics professional to oversee transportation, distribution, and supply chain operations. This position will be responsible for leading logistics strategies, improving operational efficiency, managing teams, and ensuring timely and cost-effective movement of products. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership experience within logistics, transportation, or distribution center operations.

Job Summary

The Senior Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of logistics operations, including transportation planning, inventory movement, distribution processes, and operational performance. This role provides strategic leadership to logistics teams, drives process improvements, manages vendor and carrier relationships, and ensures business objectives are met while maintaining high standards for safety, service, and efficiency.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage daily logistics and transportation operations.
  • Develop and execute logistics strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service levels.
  • Oversee transportation planning, scheduling, routing, and delivery performance.
  • Manage relationships with carriers, vendors, and third-party logistics partners.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop action plans for continuous improvement.
  • Lead, train, and develop logistics supervisors and team members.
  • Collaborate with Warehouse Operations, Inventory Control, Customer Service, and Leadership teams to ensure seamless product flow.
  • Analyze logistics data, reports, and trends to identify operational improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, DOT regulations, safety standards, and industry requirements.
  • Oversee freight costs, transportation budgets, and operational expenses.
  • Identify and resolve transportation delays, service issues, and process challenges.
  • Support implementation of logistics technology, systems, and process improvements.
  • Establish and maintain standard operating procedures for logistics operations.
  • Drive accountability and performance across logistics teams.
  • Support customer service goals by ensuring accurate and timely deliveries.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, or distribution operations.
  • Previous management experience overseeing logistics teams required.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation operations, inventory movement, and supply chain processes.
  • Experience working in a warehouse, distribution center, or food distribution environment preferred.
  • Proven experience managing operational improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
