Salary Range:$45,796.40 - $68,694.60
Works under the direction of assigned manager to perform basic repairs and maintenance on interior and exterior of library facilities. Performs maintenance on building fixtures and equipment. Performs basic painting, carpentry, plumbing, and tree trimming. Delivers, moves, and assembles furniture. Installs minor electrical systems and changes light bulbs. Unclogs plumbing stoppages. Installs or moves wall partitions or floor coverings. Replaces filters and belts in building equipment. Adjusts locks and makes duplicate keys as needed. Picks up and delivers equipment and supplies across the city when needed. Maintains safe and clean work environment. Refers all work requiring a fully skilled electrician, carpenter, painter, plumber, mason, etc. Performs various other semi-skilled building maintenance and groundskeeping duties. May performs simple preventative maintenance on library vehicles.
Responsibilities
  1. Perform other functions (essential or otherwise) which may be assigned.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing. Requires the ability to operate basic power and manual tools. Requires reaching, bending, stooping, climbing ladders, and lifting and carrying furniture, equipment, etc. weighing up to 50 lbs.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS Work is performed in a library environment and outside exposed to various weather conditions. Frequent travel to pick up and deliver supplies across the city may be required. Must be able to work flexible hours, evening, and weekends and be on-call 24 hours a day.
Qualifications
: High school diploma or equivalent and three (3) years' experience in general building maintenance; or any combination of experience and training which enables one to perform the essential functions. Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license as a condition of continued employment. General electrical, plumbing, or other basic craft experience preferred.
