Job Summary:
Support the mission and vision of Concordia Language Villages and demonstrate the competencies as defined for this position.
  • Able to work with a diverse group of people including co-workers, students, staff, faculty, etc. in a professional manner
  • Provide excellent customer service by actively responding to needs in finding solutions to specific requests
  • Communicates well with co-workers/supervisors by identifying and taking initiative to ensure work and ad hoc work requests are completed in an effective manner
  • Actively requests feedback on responsibilities completed from supervisor and customers
  • Accepts and implements feedback on responsibilities completed for continuous improvement

Cleaning duties within assigned areas - 75%
  • Sweep and mop floors
  • Vacuum carpets
  • Clean and sanitize bathroom fixtures and showers
  • Wash beds, bed boxes, drawers, reachable windows, and walls as necessary
  • Sanitize mattresses
  • Put linens on beds as appropriate for next occupancy
  • Dust fixtures and furniture as necessary
  • Empty wastebaskets and take all trash to collecting point
  • Stock supplies such as toilet paper, paper towels, etc to designated areas
  • Report maintenance repair needs.

Washing Linens for residences - 15%
  • Collect dirty linen from residences
  • Wash and dry linens in laundry room
  • Fold and distribute clean linen to residences and linen storage as appropriate

Other - 10%
  • Part of a limited mobile team that assembles for specific projects/tasks across site during standard shift hours as directed by Management
  • Remove snow and ice at building entrances and exits
  • Pick up trash and litter around the exterior of buildings
  • Mandatory attendance to all required safety training
  • Assist with event set-up & tear-down as requested

Other duties as assigned by the Building Services Supervisor
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
  • Required
  • High school diploma or GED required or successful related work experience
  • Two years related experience
  • Proficient computer skills to utilize email, Banner portal, etc.
  • Ability to operate and care for various custodial equipment
