As a Packaging/Labeling Supervisor at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you'll manage a team responsible for ensuring clinical pharmaceutical products are packaged and labeled to the highest standards of quality and compliance. You'll oversee 20–40 employees across multiple production lines while applying Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and demonstrating our core values of Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement. In this role, you'll lead daily manufacturing operations, drive continuous improvement initiatives, develop team capabilities, collaborate with cross-functional partners to resolve quality issues, optimize processes, and ensure the timely delivery of pharmaceutical products that support better healthcare outcomes.

A Day in the Life:
  • Lead and coach a team of 20–40 packaging and labeling employees across multiple production lines.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, regulatory requirements, safety standards, and quality systems.
  • Drive operational excellence through Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Investigate deviations, implement corrective actions, and collaborate with Quality and Operations teams.
  • Support production planning to ensure on-time delivery of clinical pharmaceutical products.
  • Develop team members through coaching, performance management, and training.
  • Maintain production documentation, SOPs, and manufacturing records.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Keys to Success:Education
  • Advanced Degree with 3+ years of experience, OR Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical packaging or an FDA-regulated industry.
  • Combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • Preferred fields: Business, Management, Engineering, Scientific discipline, or related field.
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Project Management certifications preferred.
Experience
  • Experience leading teams of 10+ employees.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing and packaging operations.
  • Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing methodologies including line balancing, Takt Time, 5S, SMED, and TPM.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Strong knowledge of GMP, regulatory requirements, and pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
  • Strong communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical problem-solving skills with experience investigating deviations and implementing solutions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality and safety standards.
  • Proficiency with SOP development, production documentation, manufacturing/quality systems, and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to implement process improvements and support operational excellence.
  • Sound judgment in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in varying environmental conditions.
  • Visual acuity for quality inspections, including color vision requirements.
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
