JOB TITLE: PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR - Weekends

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: Provide direction and organization for the team members by coaching and hands-on training to produce parts in accordance with specifications and quality standards, with an emphasis on internal and external customer service and efficient production.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES:

Essential

  • Provide direction for production personnel 
    • Coach and support, providing performance feedback on an ongoing basis
    • Build group commitment to department and company goals and objectives
    • Complete performance evaluations in a timely manner
    • Responsible for hiring and progressive corrective action as needed
    • Assess training needs, providing assistance as needed
  • Organize workload according to priority dispatches

  • Set up jobs as needed
  • Place metal part in appropriate machine and operate machine according to specifications
  • Check parts regularly for accuracy
  • Maintain proper documentation on all assignments in coordination with Quality Assurance
  • Ensure and record accurate counts
  • Maintain efficient production times
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with manager, team members and other departments
  • Oversee assigned departments, providing direction, motivation and feedback
  • Assess shop staffing needs and coordinate with manager
  • Communicate and implement all policies and procedures of Future Form Manufacturing
  • Willing to work overtime when needed
  • Maintain the responsibilities of the ISO 9001 system in accordance with the requirements defined in the Quality Manual, and Procedure Level documentation 
  • Participate actively and positively in Lean activities

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:

Follow all OSHA safety regulations and those set by Future Form Manufacturing

 

REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:

Essential

  • Minimum three years of experience in a precision sheet metal environment
  • One year supervisory or lead experience
  • Strong math skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; additional skills in algebra, geometry and trigonometry
  • Strong ability to read blueprints
  • Good flat pattern knowledge
  • Strong ability to use precision measuring equipment
  • Good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to understand detailed verbal instructions
  • Willingness to work hours needed to complete jobs
  • Manual dexterity
 Beneficial
  • High school graduate plus relevant vocational training (e.g. sheet metal work)

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:

Sit 25%, Stand 30%, Walk 20%, Bend 5%, Squat 1%, Lift 5%, Twist 10%, Climb 2%, Drive 1%, Push/Pull 1%.

Maximum (minutes based upon an 8 hour day): Sit 120, Stand 144, Walk 96, Bend 24, Squat 5, Lift 24, Twist 48, Climb 9, Drive 5, Push/Pull 5.

Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.  

Must have normal vision (with or without corrective lenses) and hearing (with or without corrective hearing aids).

 

Working Environment: Shop environment. Moderate noise level. Exposure to dust, heat and cold.

This position will require drug testing per company policy. 


Friday through Monday 6:00pm to 6:30am
