Job description

Title:                           Printer Operator

Functional Area:       Production

Reports to:                 Production Supervisor

Position Description

The Printer Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining printing equipment to produce high-quality printed products that meet customer specifications. This position ensures efficient production, maintains quality standards, and follows all company safety procedures.

Printer Operator Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions

  • Set up and operate digital and/or large-format printing equipment.
  • Review work orders and verify print specifications before production.
  • Monitor print quality and make machine adjustments as needed.
  • Load paper, vinyl, and other printing materials into equipment.
  • Inspect finished products for color accuracy, alignment, and overall quality.
  • Perform routine cleaning and preventive maintenance on printing equipment.
  • Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and report major repairs to maintenance.
  • Maintain inventory of inks, paper, and printing supplies.
  • Complete production records and accurately track job status.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all company policies, quality standards, and safety procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One or more years of experience operating commercial printing equipment.
  • Experience with digital, wide-format, or offset printing preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with print management software.
