Description
This job posting is for a Teya contract at Ft. Belvoir, VA and is primarily for the purposes of contact incumbent onboarding. Current employees of BASOPS Contract at Ft. Belvoir, VA are encouraged to apply; all hiring and onboarding is done electronically.

Teya Support Services is seeking a Laborer to support Base Operations services at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. The Laborer performs a variety of manual labor, facilities maintenance, grounds maintenance, and trade-support functions in support of installation infrastructure and building operations. This position works closely with skilled trades personnel in Grounds Maintenance, Carpentry, HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, and other Public Works operations to ensure facilities and grounds remain safe, functional, and mission ready.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Grounds Maintenance Support
- Operate commercial landscaping equipment including mowers, trimmers, edgers, blowers, tampers, and other grounds maintenance equipment.
- Perform mowing, trimming, vegetation control, debris removal, and general landscape maintenance.
- Dig, backfill, and restore trenches associated with utility, maintenance, and construction activities.
- Assist with grading, soil placement, seeding, sod installation, and site restoration projects.
- Support snow and ice removal operations as required.
- Assist with temporary pavement repairs and installation of asphalt patching materials.
- Collect and dispose of debris, refuse, and vegetation from assigned work sites.
Facilities and Carpentry Support
- Assist with building repairs and preventative maintenance activities.
- Perform minor drywall repairs, patching, and surface preparation.
- Assist with installation, adjustment, and repair of doors, locks, windows, and hardware.
- Replace damaged ceiling tiles and other building finish materials.
- Assist with repairing concrete surfaces, sidewalks, steps, and floors.
- Support installation and maintenance of cabinets, fixtures, stairs, and overhead doors.
- Move furniture, equipment, and materials during renovation and maintenance projects.
HVAC Maintenance Support
- Assist HVAC personnel with preventive maintenance activities on air handling units and HVAC systems.
- Replace belts, filters, pulleys, and other routine maintenance components.
- Clean coils, mechanical rooms, equipment pads, and work areas.
- Read and record meter and gauge information as directed.
- Assist skilled mechanics during inspections, troubleshooting, and repair activities.
- Maintain clear and safe access to mechanical equipment and service areas.
Plumbing and Electrical Support
- Assist with repair and replacement of sinks, toilets, water coolers, and related plumbing fixtures.
- Assist with replacement of switches, receptacles, lighting fixtures, and other basic electrical components.
- Support installation and removal of equipment and materials associated with maintenance projects.
General Labor Functions
- Load, unload, transport, and stage materials, tools, supplies, and equipment.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and other equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
- Comply with all safety, environmental, and quality control requirements.
- Support emergency response, weather-related events, and special projects as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of contract requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- One (1) year of laborer, construction, grounds maintenance, facilities maintenance, or related experience preferred.
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
- Valid driver's license and ability to maintain driving privileges on Federal installations.
- Ability to obtain and maintain installation access credentials.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Basic knowledge of construction, maintenance, landscaping, or facilities operations.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in a variety of environments.
- Ability to operate and maintain basic tools and equipment.
