Position Summary

Our simulation team supports learners from students to experienced clinicians, of all healthcare disciplines - partnering with educators, providers, and student program partners to make sure every simulation experience comes together seamlessly. The Simulation Lab Technologist provides operational support for experiential learning in the SIM lab at Phoenix Children's This position assists the SIM Manager and performs delegated duties including preparing, transitioning, and taking down of equipment, supplies, and manikins, as directed for SIM scenarios; performs routine cleaning and maintenance of equipment and supplies; assists with data collection, documentation and troubleshooting of equipment; supply inventory management, and other supportive activities to maintain quality and effective simulations. Works effectively with the SIM Manager.
Position Duties
  • Performs physical set up and takedown of a variety of healthcare simulation manikins and clinical lab environments per scenario protocol.
  • Supports staff and faculty during the running of simulation events preparing applications, props placement, and moulage set up to create a realistic healthcare setting, as directed.
  • Maintains (AV) media, computers, simulators, task trainers, and other necessary technologies utilized by the department.
  • Maintains records of supplies and departmental equipment inventory as well as the maintenance of the assets of the department.
  • Acquires and restocks supplies as needed in the simulation suite.
  • In consultation with the SIM Manager, develops scheduling plans for repair and maintenance that accommodates the changing needs of the department.
  • Flexible schedule to potentially include nights and weekends.
  • Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.
