Met Lab Technician
Ellisville, MS, United States req27525 12 hours - night shift, 05:00pm- 05:30am- shift B
What you will enjoy doing*
  • You will Prepare and evaluate cubicle qualification samples (Tab samples)
  • Further you will also prepare and evaluate sample parts and customer hardware (Part cut ups) and prepare and evaluate physical properties (e.g. Hardness - Micro and Macro)
  • You will perform set-ups, and operate a variety of standard lab equipment, while adhering to prescribed methods of operation
  • Calibrate and maintain lab equipment is required in this role
  • Moreover you will order all Met Lab supplies including polishing suspensions, grit paper, etc
  • You will perform quality evaluations of standard coatings in a timely manner, identifying problem areas and reporting results to appropriate individuals
  • Accurate record keeping for all of the above

What makes you great
  • A High School Diploma / GED and five (5) years' related experience such as in quality, manufacturing, or similar environment
  • You must be able to complete Linde Metallurgical Technician Training and Metcut Training, and maintain certification(s)
  • Further, you must be able to perform quality evaluations of standard coatings and basic investigations into metallurgical issues at a level typically acquired through lab experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and strong written and verbal communication skills is required
  • Moreover, you must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends and holidays as needed
