Job Description:
Responsible for the analysis, identification and correction of demographic information and medical documentation placement in a variety of systems and interfaces between systems to protect the integrity of the scanned or electronic legal medical record.
Employee is expected to adhere to:

• Adheres to hospital policies and procedures as well as addresses patient safety, performance improvement, and quality of care issues.
• Department education and training focus has a direct impact on patient safety and reduces unsafe working conditions for employees.
• Knowledgeable about patient safety and quality of care issues.
• Able to recognize safety issues in the department and handles incidents per institutional and/or departmental policies and procedures.
• If safety issues were identified; all issues handled timely and appropriately.
• Employee attends and follows all department specific safety education and training in an effort to create a safe work environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education/experience/licensing:
1. Associates Degree in Health Information Technology preferred.
2. Experience with document imaging and electronic medical record systems preferred.
3. Experience with computer system applications to maintain a level of computer literacy appropriate to their role is required; including working knowledge of Word and Excel.
4. Working knowledge of terminal digit filing system required; may be tested.
5. Previous records management experience preferred.
