POSITION SUMMARY:
Assist administrative and clinical team members by performing a variety of clerical and clinical duties to ensure departmental function within the DHR Health Institute for Research and Development as well as departmental compliance in accordance with State and Federal regulations. Such duties include but are not limited to: triage patients, conduct vital assessment for clinical trial participants, phlebotomy activities, provides injections, sample processing, sample shipping, data entry and help with patient registration for clinical trials.
  • High School graduate or G.E.D. certificate preferred.
  • Research experience preferred.
  • Completion of CNA program, Medical Assistant Program, PCA or like program preferred.
  • BLS Certification required.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred
  • Computer skills required with knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Some evening or weekend work will be required.
  • Bilingual - English/Spanish.
  • Comfortable with medical/technical terminology.

JOB KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
  • One (1) year of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities:
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
A. Study Preparation and Support
• Help prepare study binders, source documents, and visit worksheets.
• Assist with study start-up activities (regulatory paperwork, supply management).
• Ensure materials (lab kits, forms, consent versions) are organized and available.
B. Participant Support
• Schedule participant visits, follow-up appointments, and reminders.
• Escort participants to labs, imaging, or study-related procedures.
• Provide non-clinical support during visits (forms, questionnaires, sample drop-off).
• May assist in the informed consent process under supervision (not as lead).
C. Data and Documentation
• Enter collected data into Case Report Forms (CRFs) or Electronic Data Capture (EDC) systems.
• Transcribe information from source notes into study databases.
• Maintain accurate logs (screening, enrollment, deviations, visit tracking).
• File study documents (regulatory, source, lab reports) in binders/e-binders.
D. Operational and Administrative Duties
• Perform clerical tasks such as copying, scanning, and filing study documents.
• Order, track, and manage study supplies and lab kits.
• Assist with preparing materials for monitoring visits and audits.
• Handle participant reimbursement paperwork, parking validation, or transport coordination.
E. Regulatory and Compliance Support (under supervision)
• Help prepare IRB submissions, amendments, or continuing review packets.
• Track and update training logs, delegation logs, and essential document binders.
• Ensure correct versions of consent forms are in use.
F. Communication and Coordination
• Act as a liaison between study participants, coordinators, and clinic staff.
• Relay scheduling changes and reminders to patients.
• Support coordinators during sponsor monitoring visits by pulling source files or data.

B. Working Conditions: The individual spends over 95% of his/her time in an air-conditioned environment with varying exposures to noise. There is protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. The position does have low exposure to malodorous, infectious body fluids from patients and some minimal exposure to noxious smells from cleansing agents.
C. Occupational Exposure: This position has minimal to no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues and is an OSHA Category III (although situations can be imagined or hypothesized under which anyone, anywhere, might encounter potential exposure to body fluids). Person who performs these duties are not called upon as part of their employment to perform or assist in emergency medical care or first aid or to be potentially exposed in some other way.
