Overview

Join a leading healthcare facility as a Laboratory Lab Assistant, where you will play a vital role in supporting the laboratory team through routine specimen processing and lab tasks. Responsibilities

Sort, receive, and process specimens in the laboratory department

Perform routine instrument maintenance on select lab equipment

Center laboratory tasks such as centrifuging specimens, printing labels, and recording data including temperature charts

Store and retrieve specimens accurately

Prepare reagents and media for laboratory testing

Prepare specimens for testing, including building worklists, aliquoting samples, and checking for clots or fibrin

Inoculate samples, prepare slides, and perform quality assurance and quality control duties as assigned

Resolve pending sample lists and locate missing samples

Decontaminate work areas and perform weekly radioactive wipe tests

Maintain department records and files, including changing gas cylinders and following safety procedures

Operate laboratory computer systems and dispose of biohazardous materials safely

Complete training and competency checklists as required

Required Skills
