What you’ll be doing:

We are looking for an experienced Janitorial Area Manager to manage and support the work activities performed by our janitorial staff. The Area Manager has operational accountability for their assigned account; they must manage and train their team and inspect the building regularly to ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded.

Janitorial Area Manager Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for:budgets, P & L statements, quality control, staffing, training, workassignmentsandtimecards.
  • Complete regular quality controlinspections withSite Supervisor and/or customer.
  • Determinenecessary staffing levels to satisfy Scope of Work whileremainingwithin budget.
  • Manage and train the work of the janitorial staff in the building.
  • Designateshift and area work assignments.
  • Respond quickly and appropriately to all customer concerns or complaints; take full responsibility to ensure the customer receives closure on all issues and inquiries.
  • Onboard and set-up training for all new employees (including hands-ontraining;jobshadowing;etc.).
  • Train by example: perform the duties of a janitor while they shadow you.
  • Manage any employee relations or performance issues quickly andappropriately;Document and report to management or HR.
  • Identifyand communicate the need for any special project work to management.
  • Review employee timekeeping to ensure compliance with timekeepingruleand complete payroll documents to ensure all employee time is paid correctly.
  • Maintain cleaning supplies inventory.
  • Respond to calls whenever needed.
  • Enforce all safety policies and procedures;immediatelyreport and investigate accidents.
  • Complete training courses asrequired.

Janitorial Area Manager Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years progressively increasing management experience in the janitorial industryrequired.
  • Asatisfactory working knowledgeofall major areas of building maintenance,including:restroom sanitation, office cleaning, carpet care, hard floor care, equipment operation and maintenance, chemical knowledge, MSDS and safety.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and make sound decisions in stressful situations.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Able to multi-task.
  • Ability to show judgment and to work independently.
  • High integrity and discretionrequired.
