Main Responsibilities of a Cleaner/Janitor:

Cleaner/Janitor Description:

We are looking for an experienced Cleaner/Janitor to fill a vital spot in our staff. We are hoping to find a reliable and skilled person who understands the importance that the role cleaner/janitor plays in an organization. Must be able to work unsupervised with quality work as a result. Work will be evaluated by the opening manager.

The person we would like to give this opportunity should have strong communication skills, be able to prioritize tasks, and poses both a proactive and reactive mindset. We like to keep our environment tidy and very well-organized; we expect from our future Cleaner/Janitor to take complete responsibility for helping us achieve this. Would be required to clean the kitchen equipment, floors, walls and the bathrooms. Clean/sweep debris in parking lot, empty garbage and shoveling snow.

Will be on a ladder to clean grill and fryer hoods; also, light laundry will be done daily.

This position is third shift and starting wage is $18/hour and must be available weekends.

Responsibilities of a Cleaner/Janitor:
  • Cleaning building floors (mopping, scrubbing, sweeping)
  • Gathering and emptying indoor/outdoor trash
  • Clean, service and resupply restrooms
  • Clean windows, mirrors and other glass surfaces
  • Clean kitchen equipment (grill, fryers and hoods)
  • Engaging in building security and safety activities (checking and locking doors)
  • Moving equipment, supplies, and furniture to clean behind and under
  • Informing managers about required repair and maintenance activities
  • Maintaining tools and equipment needed for Cleaner/Janitor duties
Cleaner/Janitor Job Requirements:
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have proven working experience as Cleaner/Janitor
  • Must know and follow sanitation procedures
  • Must be able to respond and act quickly
  • Must have strong communication and multitasking skills
  • Must have knowledge of cleaning equipment, chemicals, and supplies
  • Must be 100% reliable
  • Must be able to work unsupervised
