Description
Summary:
The janitor performs janitorial duties that involve cleaning and sanitizing the building and its grounds under managements direction. Knowledge or willingness to learn proper cleaning techniques is essential. Work may involve a variety of physical demands. Must be 18 years old or older.
Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Service, clean, and supply restrooms with appropriate cleaning solutions
  2. Vacuuming, and sweeping of carpeted areas; mopping of all hard surface areas
  3. Empty all garbage receptacles and clean out these receptacles
  4. Replace air freshener cartridges and urinal blocks as needed
  5. Pick up large trash items and sweep up all small debris
  6. Wipe down seat backs on a rotational basis
  7. Wipe down drinking fountains and benches
  8. Remove gum and any other sticky matter
  9. Keep dumpster area neat and orderly; dumpster lid and surrounding gates should be closed (locked if required)
  10. Maintain janitorial closets in a clean, organized and safe manner
  11. Maintain janitorial equipment in a clean, safe and operable condition

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Stay in constant communication with management at all times regarding shortages on supplies and questions
  2. Other routine maintenance duties as assigned
  3. Notify management of any potential safety hazards

WORKING CONDITIONS


The work for this position is performed inside the fun center, frequently around customers and other employees. The position requires routine walking, standing, bending, twisting and carrying items weighing less than fifty pounds. The employee must be aware that chemicals are often used in this position. This position requires availability some days, mostly evenings and late nights, weekends and holidays.
