Job description

Position Title: Experienced Steel Ironworker
Location: Rochester, NY (and surrounding areas)
Reports to: Field Foreman and Project Manager assigned to the specific project being erected
Compensation: $28 - $38 per hour, with opportunities for annual reviews and increases and possible fuel stipend for employees

Basic Function: As an Experienced Steel Ironworker at Ramar Steel, you will serve as a crucial asset to our commercial construction projects, specializing in the safe and efficient erection of steel frameworks. Your role is pivotal in ensuring project deadlines are met, quality standards are exceeded, and safety remains paramount for yourself and your team. By laying strong foundations for every building, you directly contribute to our company's overall success.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform steel connection tasks
  • Install metal decking
  • Conduct welding operations
  • Install shear studs
  • Install and tighten bolts securely
  • Operate aerial lifts, forklifts, and other equipment safely

Skills and Attributes:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the structural steel erection industry
  • Subpart R and Subpart CC training
  • OSHA 10-hour course certification
  • Valid NY state driver's license and reliable transportation to and from job sites
  • Possess all necessary tools for the role
  • Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces
  • Capable of working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Flexible to work overtime, nights, and weekends as project demands
  • Adhere strictly to safety protocols and project regulations; perform additional duties as required
