Job description

The Structures Trainee position participates in formal 14-week structures training program through consistent classroom attendance, participation & assigned project completion. Develops & demonstrates structural repair skills necessary to qualify for second phase of On-the-Job training as an Aircraft Structures Apprentice.
What you need:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic mechanical skills/aptitude
  • Ability to read, write, speak, understand & effectively communicate in English
  • Demonstrated experience exhibiting fine motor skills, manual dexterity & attention to detail
  • Demonstrated problem solving and creative thinking skills
  • Demonstrated reliability & dependability
  • Ability follow written & verbal directions and to interpret diagrams
  • Desire to learn a trade
  • Ability & willingness to practice safe work procedures
  • Ability to precisely manipulate hand tools in a variety of situations
  • Basic computer proficiency to enable access to digital manuals, training materials, regulations, etc.

Preferred Job Skills:
  • Previous work experience in a maintenance or skilled trade environment
  • Previous experience interpreting diagrams and technical documentation or directions
  • Previous experience using hand tools

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
  • Ability to fit in tight places
  • Ability to twist, bend, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl and climb and sustain those positions for an extended period of time
  • Ability to work in confined spaces with respiratory equipment
  • Ability to work at heights up to 80 feet
  • Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions
  • Ability to work with arms raised above head and perform repetitive tasks and motions
  • Ability to precisely manipulate hand tools in a variety of situations
  • Near sight acuity, Hand/eye coordination, Good oral communication, Depth perception, Field of vision
