INVESTIGATIVE MEDIA JOURNALIST

Full-Time Position

Location: 1951 Richmond, Houston, TX 77098

EXPERIENCE: Broadcast news or print journalism experience as a reporter or special projects producer

SUMMARY:

Dolcefino Media is seeking a critical addition to our investigative media team: an aggressive journalist who enjoys digging, can analyze public records and computer research to identify leads, and can write and prepare content for Dolcefino Media's social media news site. We are seeking a confident candidate who can conduct challenging interviews effectively. While Dolcefino Media offers several services, we are, at heart, an investigative journalism operation and retain total editorial control over our social media content.

As local newsrooms cut back on investigative journalism, more people and companies are turning to private firms like Dolcefino Media because of their thirst for truth and justice. Dolcefino Media is an ever-expanding investigative communications consulting firm, privately funded to expose public corruption, injustice, and fraud. The firm provides crisis management, reputation management, and litigation support services.

The President of Dolcefino Media is Wayne Dolcefino, a longtime investigative journalist who headed the award-winning 13 Undercover Investigative Unit at KTRK-TV. Dolcefino has won 30 Emmy Awards from the National Academy of Arts and Sciences and three medals from the Investigative Reporters and Editors.

Dolcefino Media is a fast-paced workplace environment, so we need a candidate who will thrive in a company known for its aggressive posture. The firm excels in public corruption, judicial injustice, crisis management, reputation management, litigation support, and opposition research.

SKILLS SHOULD INCLUDE:

·         Strategic thinking and excellent organization planning skills with attention to detail.

·         This position is document-intensive. The candidate must be able to communicate effectively with the company's President and keep them updated on the production status. Excellent organization and communication are imperative.

·         The candidate must be a self-starter, ambitious, and passionate about the public right to know.

·         Ability to write and edit effectively.

·         Ability to manage multiple key initiatives and projects concurrently.

·         Strong Microsoft Office skills.

·         Must be able to conduct on-camera interviews.

·         The candidate must have a background in journalism, and any experience in private investigation is a plus.

·         Must be available on weekends and nights as needed in a crisis environment.

·         Some overnight travel will be required.

BENEFITS AND PAY:

Dolcefino Media provides benefits to employees, which will be outlined for finalists. The rate of pay will be based on experience.
