Description

American Traveler is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist for a 13-week contract in a 5-procedure-room acute care hospital setting, with fluoroscopy experience and a state license required.

Details
  • Work in a 5-procedure-room Interventional Radiology unit at a 255-bed acute care hospital, including 2 fluoroscopy rooms, 2 ultrasound rooms, and 1 CT-capable room
  • Average caseload of 10–15 cases per day
  • Procedures include joint injections, paracentesis, thoracentesis, lumbar puncture, nephrostomy and cholecystostomy tube placements and exchanges, abscess drains, port placements, biopsies, thrombectomies, embolizations, chest tube placements, and more
  • 5x8-hour day shifts, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Rotating overnight OR call and weekend call required; approximately 1–2 call days per week and 1 weekend per month
  • Holiday call coverage for the OR and possible PICC line assistance as needed
  • Charting in Meditech
  • Free parking available in any unrestricted space
Requirements
  • Fluoroscopy experience required
  • Current BLS required; ACLS and ARRT (VI) preferred
  • State license required if applicable
  • Proficiency with fluoroscopy, CT, and ultrasound equipment
  • Experience with venous access, port access, central venous access (non-tunneled/PICC lines), and PICC line care and maintenance
  • Skills in scrubbing to maintain sterile field, room circulation, equipment setup, and access site prep
  • Experience with a broad range of IR procedures including angiography, embolization, angioplasty, IVC filter placement/removal, TIPS, thrombolysis/thrombectomy, genitourinary and vascular interventions
  • Familiarity with vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose) preferred
  • Experience with Philips or Siemens IR equipment preferred
  • PACS experience preferred
Additional Information
  • Candidates who live within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position
  • Candidates who have worked permanently at this facility within the past 24 months will not be considered
  • Holiday coverage is expected: plan to work one holiday if one falls during the assignment, one of two if two fall, and two of three if three fall; any requested time off must be disclosed prior to assignment start
  • Allied health professionals may start on Mondays or any other day and are not required to attend the general RN orientation
  • This facility has a zero-tolerance policy for THC; medical marijuana cards are not accepted
  • A drug screen will be required during compliance and again on Day 1 at the facility
  • Fit testing is required; facility policy requires travelers to shave for fit testing, or obtain a provider exemption letter approved by Employee Health Services prior to starting
  • Scrub color: black or Caribbean blue
