Job description

Specialized Transportation Driver - Wentworth, GA
$1,500 Sign on Bonus in State and $2,500 Sign on Bonus Out of State
Sapp's Wrecker, a division of Guardian Fleet Services
Annual Compensation Range: $88k - $114k
The Specialized Transport Driver will safely operate a commercial industrial carrier or tractor trailer combination with a GVWR rating in excess of 33,000 lbs. must have 2 years' experience of heavy hauling/commercial driving experience.
Essential Duties:
  • Report each scheduled day, on-time, ready and able to work, well-groomed and in uniform.
  • Work with our Dispatch team
  • Load/unload cargo damage free
  • Perform vehicle inspection sheet daily, identifying any mechanical issues.
  • Comply with Company and DOT regulations regarding the safe operation of the truck.
  • Tracking E logs
  • Inspect all supplied tools such as chains, straps, and cables to ensure equipment is in a good and safe condition.
  • Report any issue that restricts the ability to complete the dispatch in a timely manner.
  • Ability to drive and perform duties via interstate for towing, recovery, and/or transport.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Basic technology skills. Ability to use GPS, company-issued software, mobile device

  • Basic mechanical skills and ability to use tools
  • Attention to detail and accuracy when documenting work, hours, and information
  • Ability to work Nights, Days, Weekends and Holidays as needed
Qualifications, Education, and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Class A driver’s license with at least two (2) years of heavy hauling/commercial driving experience
  • Must be at least 21 years of age to meet company insurance and driving eligibility requirements
Physical Requirements:
  • Job requires lifting, crawling, pulling, constant use of hands, significant bending and reaching, climbing
  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts
  • Must be comfortable working at elevated heights and around elevated equipment when required
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to safely perform duties in active roadside and recovery environments
