Sign Language InterpreterUnder the oversight of a Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, will provide sign language interpretive services to eligible deaf and hard of hearing studentsShall have MINIMUM of a High School Diploma or GED and must meet at least one of the three requirements defined in the Tennessee Department of Education Employment Standards for Educational Interpreters. Rule 0520-1-03(10)Must be able to use a variety of signing methods (i.e. ASL, PSE, MCE, Contact Signing)Must be able to use technology to facilitate better understanding of content by the studentsPrevious experience working with deaf and hearing impaired students as an educational interpreter in a public school setting preferredAble and willing to take direction be able to work independentlyStrong interpersonal skills and work as a team member with students, staff, and parentsMust maintain regular attendanceMust be able to interact with students
