Duties/Responsibilities

  • Act as a visual deterrent to prevent theft, embezzlement, sabotage, fire, and accidents.
  • Conduct regular patrols.
  • Monitor activities.
  • Surveillance.
  • Access control.
  • Safety escorts.
  • Using provided communication devices.
  • Represent SSNW’s brand.
  • Properly wear the issued uniform.
  • Complete Daily Activity Reports (DAR).
  • Complete Incident Reports.
  • Work with local law enforcement, and emergency services.
  • Provide friendly assistance to customers, employees, and visitors following the department's procedures.
  • Other duties as described in the Post Orders.


Required Skills/Abilities

  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Must have a clean criminal record and driving record
  • 5 years of combined ARMED experience (Military, Law Enforcement, and/or Security) preferred
  • Access to a smartphone with access to the apps we use for scheduling, clocking in/out, and reporting.
  • Reliable transportation, (must own your own car.)
  • Honesty and integrity.
  • Able to work non-traditional hours including swings, graveyard, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must currently hold or be able to obtain a Washington State Armed Security Guard License.
  • Ability to react appropriately in high-stress situations.


Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior public safety and/or military experience preferred.
  • Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) card (or plans on obtaining one).
  • Knowledge of security protocols and equipment.


Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to conduct regular walking foot patrols.
  • Able to stand 8-12 hours a day.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
