POSITION SUMMARY: 

Performs nursing functions for physician/extenderSupports the Objectives and Philosophy of White-Wilson Medical Center. 

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs selected nursing care and administrative duties. 
  • Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with clinical standards.
  • Prepares equipment and aids physician during treatment, examination, and testing of patients including patient screening, histories, and vital signs.
  • Observes, records and reports patient’s condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to physicians. Dispenses medication as directed.
  • Assists in maintaining timely flow of patients.
  • Maintains exam rooms for necessary supplies, materials, and cleanliness. Prepares list of medical supplies needed.
  • Maintains basic knowledge of medical coding and keeps abreast of annual changes and updates.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality. 
  • Consistently displays a positive attitude and a personal commitment to excellence.
  • May perform point of care testing and resulting.
  • May perform venipuncture, ensuring accurate and safe collection of blood samples.
  • Performs related duties as required.
  • Uses EMR to record all patient information. 
  • Utilize Florida Shots, and other programs as needed for patient care. 
  • Read and respond to email in a timely manner.
  • Attend department meetings, and clinic required meetings.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required. 

 

Required Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Graduation from an accredited medical assistant school or program. 
  • Possession of an active MA certification or registration (can be obtained during the first 6 months of employment).
  • Current American Heart Association recognized Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Repetitive motion of upper body required for extended use of computer. Required specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position in an outpatient medical business office setting. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm. Based on business need, the ability to work a flexible schedule, including some overtime as approved in advance.

Works in a well-lit, ventilated and climate-controlled office environment with routine office equipment; some equipment has moving mechanical parts.

Looking for full time MA's for Adult Medicine and Pediatrics (M-F 8a to 5p) and full time for Immediate Care (M-F 7a to 7p and weekends 8a to 4p).
