Position Overview
Beacon Behavioral Partners is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to provide outpatient care to patients with neurological conditions in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
This position is part of a collaborative practice that integrates neurology and psychiatric care, allowing providers to address the complex relationship between neurological health, mental health, and overall well-being. The Nurse Practitioner will primarily evaluate and manage neurology patients while working closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other clinical team members.
The practice also offers innovative psychiatric treatments, including TMS and Spravatoยฎ. Although these services are not expected to be a primary responsibility of the Neurology Nurse Practitioner, they contribute to a progressive, multidisciplinary treatment environment.
Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with a variety of neurological conditions
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical histories and neurological examinations
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Order, review, and interpret appropriate laboratory tests, imaging, and diagnostic studies
  • Prescribe and manage medications within the provider's scope of practice
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as clinically appropriate
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment options, and ongoing care
  • Collaborate with neurologists, psychiatric providers, primary care professionals, and other members of the treatment team
  • Coordinate referrals and follow-up care with outside specialists when needed
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation
  • Follow all applicable clinical, ethical, regulatory, and organizational standards
Qualifications
  • Master's or doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • Current or eligible Alabama Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license
  • Current national Nurse Practitioner certification
  • Previous experience treating neurology patients is required
  • Prescriptive authority and DEA registration, or eligibility to obtain them
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
  • Excellent communication, organization, and documentation abilities
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care
