Prescribing Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP, FNP, or Equivalent)

Locations: Pelham, AL & Gardendale, AL
Employment Type: Full-Time or Part-Time
Reports To: Clinical Director/Collaborating MD

Integrative Health Services, LLC (IHS) is a well-established, multidisciplinary outpatient mental health practice serving Central Alabama. Our mission is to provide compassionate, evidence-based care that supports healing and personal growth. With a dedicated team of licensed therapists, clinical supervisors, and medical professionals, we aim to integrate therapy and medication management to achieve the best outcomes for our clients.

We are expanding our services and seeking a Prescribing Nurse Practitioner to join our team and travel between our Pelham and Gardendale locations.


Position Summary

The Prescribing Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for conducting psychiatric evaluations, prescribing medications, and working collaboratively with therapists to ensure cohesive and effective treatment for clients.
Candidates who already have a collaborator in Alabama will receive strong preference.


Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric and/or health assessments for clients in an outpatient setting

  • Prescribe and manage medications consistent with state and federal regulations

  • Monitor medication efficacy, side effects, and adherence

  • Collaborate with licensed therapists and administrative staff to support integrated client care

  • Provide psychoeducation to clients and families on medication use and treatment expectations

  • Maintain detailed documentation within the agency’s electronic health record system (EHR)

  • Participate in staff meetings, consultations, and interdisciplinary coordination

  • Travel between Pelham and Gardendale offices as scheduled (mileage reimbursement provided)

  • Adhere to all HIPAA, state, and agency policies regarding client care and confidentiality


Qualifications
  • Current Alabama license as a Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP, FNP, or APRN with prescriptive authority)

  • Active or eligible DEA registration

  • Ability to establish and maintain a collaborative practice agreement with a licensed Alabama physician

  • Previous experience in mental health, psychiatric, or integrated care settings preferred

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and time management skills

  • Reliable transportation and willingness to commute between IHS office locations
