Job description

The Maintenance Electrician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems, equipment, and infrastructure across the industrial facility. This role supports safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations by ensuring equipment uptime, executing preventive and predictive maintenance, and assisting in continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Diagnose and repair electrical issues on industrial equipment including motors, drives, controllers, sensors, HMIs, and power distribution systems.
  • Perform troubleshooting using multimeters, thermal imagers, and other diagnostic tools.
  • Repair and replace electrical components such as breakers, contactors, relays, transformers, wiring, conduits, and control devices.
  • Support 24/7 plant operations through timely response to equipment failures and downtime events.
  • Execute PM routes on electrical systems and equipment per maintenance schedules. Including instrument calibrations in accordance with ISO1901 standards.
  • Perform predictive tasks such as infrared inspections, and motor testing.
  • Document all work in the CMMS including labor hours, parts used, failure causes, and corrective actions.
  • Install and troubleshoot signal components such as limit switches, temperature probes, and other mechanical to electrical devices. 
  • Maintain and troubleshoot motor drives (VFDs, starters).

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED and completion of state certified training with completion certificates and a minimum 5 years of trade electrical experience in an industrial manufacturing setting.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical prints, schematics.
  • Proficiency with VFDs, motors, control circuits, and plant power distribution.
  • Demonstrated experience with CMMS systems. 
  • Able to read and interpret procedures to execute work tasks.
  • Understanding of basic OSHA safety standards for general industry. 
  • Strong troubleshooting and problemsolving skills.
  • Must be a team player and model the Values and Expectations of the organization and it's parent company.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work around industrial machinery, noise, heat, and chemicals.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, work at heights, wear electrical PPE. 
  • Availability for overtime, weekends, and call-in support based on business needs.
