What is a Weekend Infusion RN?

A Weekend Infusion RN is a registered nurse who administers intravenous (IV) therapies, medications, and treatments to patients during weekends. They work in outpatient clinics, hospitals, or home health settings, ensuring safe and effective infusion therapy. Responsibilities include monitoring patients for reactions, maintaining IV access, and educating patients about their treatments. Their compensation can also increase with experience, certifications, and working in high-demand settings or during overtime and weekend shifts. However, pay varies by location, employer, and individual qualifications.
