Job description

Division/Department: Old Tucson Entertainment Nightfall

Job Title: Cast Member

Reports To: Cast Supervisor

Type of position: Non-Exempt, Hourly

Employee Classification: Seasonal

Compensation: $14.70 - $19.00 per hour

Location: Tucson, AZ

Job Summary:

Cast Members will perform as lead characters, townspeople, scare actors, and ensemble roles throughout the Nightfall event. While performances will follow a scripted story line, Cast Members will also be expected to improvise in character when appropriate during the event. Direct interaction with audience members of all ages is a key component in creating the intended atmosphere of the show. Certain roles will involve singing and choreography, and some Cast Members may participate in fight choreography or limited stunt work. Additionally, some Cast Members may be assigned to cover multiple roles or serve as understudies for lead characters.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Memorization and performance of scripted scenes while playing various characters.
  • Learn staging, music, choreography, and fight choreography.
  • Receive new dialogue and memorize in a timely manner.
  • Learn and perform songs.
  • Become familiar with company guidelines and rules.
  • Maintain a safe, welcoming, positive, and inclusive working environment and advise management with related concerns.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education, Skill, and Work Experience Requirements:

  • Ability to work up to long days with prolonged standing.
  • Prior acting and/or improvisation experience
  • Prior work in theme park events and non-traditional performance environments
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptive to an ever-changing environment.
  • Ability and willingness to work evenings, weekends, holidays and late hours as production schedule may dictate.
  • Commitment to working under shared leadership and in cross-functional teams.

Work Environment:

  • Standing, walking, and running in locations with unbalanced footing.
  • Varying temperatures and weather conditions; both indoor and outdoor.
  • Ability to work in environments with strobe lights, darkness, enclosed spaces, loud music, sound effects, and fog-filled environments.
  • Most acting positions require repetitive movement.
  • Ability to follow guidance from team leaders.
  • Fast paced and exciting environment.
  • Evening, weekend, and holiday work required.
