Job Description

BP&L Industries Energy Services, Inc. is looking for Equipment Operator/Swamper. Must have pothole experience (working with hydrovac trucks or super suckers). Must have the ability to perform heavy-duty tasks. Mechanically inclined is a plus. This is a full-time position. Must be a self-starter and have ability to work unsupervised. Night, weekend, and overtime work is required. This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform Potholing Activities
  • Perform Equipment Inspection and Maintenance
  • Set up/break down of equipment and hoses with hammer unions
  • Operate Equipment for 12 Hour Shifts
  • Drive and Haul equipment (No CDL Necessary)
  • Responsible for the successful completion of hydro excavation projects including: utility line exposure, debris removal, slot trenching, and digging
  • Perform Tank Cleaning with Pressure Washer and Hydrovac Truck
  • Perform Roustabout Jobs in drilling sites at times
  • Follow safety rules/regulations at all times
  • Acts as a safety lookout for the truck driver by giving him clear hand signals to avoid potential hazards whenever driver is required to back-up;
  • Latches bridal lines and winch lines properly;
  • Greases, paints, scrubs and cleans truck and equipment as needed;
  • Be able to drag bridal lines for distances up to 100 feet or as necessary to complete the job;
  • Be able to use hand tools;
  • Capable of working at different heights above ground level;
  • Performs maintenance as needed;
  • Other duties may be assigned

Qualifications:

  • MUST have pothole experience. Working with Hydrovac trucks or super suckers
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in Oil Field related activities
  • Must have Class C Driver's license
  • Able to travel and work extended hours as needed
  • Must have a clean Driving Record
  • Must be able to pass a Non-DOT physical, drug screen and back ground check
  • Applicant shall agree to initial Drug/Alcohol testing and random testing thereafter
  • Strong desire to learn and grow in a fast paced environment
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Reliable transportation
  • Must be able to communicate effectively
  • Safety mindedness is essential.
  • Travel out of town and out of state to work will be required at times.
  • Must be on-call and available to work at all times. (Due to client schedule, our operators may not work every day but must be on-call for irregular hours).
  • Having Up to date Training in H2S, Fall Protection and/or Confined Space is a plus.
