The Weekend Hospice RN provides after-hours hospice visits, end-of-life care, PRN symptom management, and death visits throughout the Milwaukee North region. Unlike traditional case-manager roles, this position does not carry a caseload —you focus strictly on same-day needs, delivering compassion, guidance, and clinical expertise wherever it's needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide in-home hospice nursing care, including symptom management, comfort measures, and end-of-life support.

  • Maintain accurate, compliant, and timely charting of all patient interactions.
  • Ensure safe care delivery during home visits, including assessing the environment for risks.
Qualifications
  • Current RN license (State of Wisconsin – or compact).
  • Minimum 1 year of hospice, palliative care, or home health experience strongly preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel within the Milwaukee North Market.
  • Strong assessment skills and the ability to work independently in the field.
  • Compassionate communication style with patients and families facing end-of-life situations.
Additional Details
  • If a holiday falls on a weekend, it is part of the schedule.
  • No on-call requirements beyond the 8a–8p weekend shift.
  • No floating and no case-management load—100% visit-based role.
