Department/Unit: Gastroenterology Unit
Salary Range: $50 to $65 per hour
Shift: Variable Shift (Monday to Friday)
Call Schedule: One day a week, rotating weekends
Duration: 13 weeks (Contract)
Job Description
Elitecare Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled and dedicated Travel Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Gastroenterology for a contract position in Hanford, California. This role is essential for providing high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing gastrointestinal procedures and treatments.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and monitor patients with gastrointestinal conditions, documenting any changes in their health status.
  • Assist with diagnostic and therapeutic GI procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  • Collaborate with gastroenterologists and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Educate patients and their families about GI conditions, treatment options, and post-procedure care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
  • Participate in call coverage as scheduled, including rotating weekends.
Requirements
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in California.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a GI or related nursing setting preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
