Job description

Position Summary
The Starter and Marshal position works closely with the General Manager/Director of Golf and/or Assistant Golf Professional on duties to assure an exceptional experience for all guests at the club. Primary responsibility falls on kindly greeting guests, keeping tee times paired according to the tee sheet and on-time, regulating pace of play, and reporting issues to the professional staff.
Starters and Marshals must have excellent listening skills and an eagerness to provide exceptional service. Must be flexible in meeting the varying scheduling needs of the Club and may be required to work additional hours than scheduled, if necessary. Starters and Marshals must be neat and well-groomed in accordance to the clubs standards.
This position requires a highly self-motivated individual who can work with minimal supervision and interact with guests at a high-level.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
It must be recognized that all specific duties cannot be listed and that responsibilities will change accordingly as the need arises.
- This position will meet and greet all guests in a warm, friendly and professional manner in accordance with all club policies and procedures.
- Responsible for using the provided tee sheet software utilizing an iPad to keep tee times on time and in order.
- Responsible for communicating effectively with professional staff to re-arrange groups due to unforeseen circumstances.
- During down time, starters may be asked to go out onto the course and monitor pace of play, as well as this being a primary responsibility on some busier days.
- Responsible for keeping a tidy work station, including picking up trash and keeping the starter station clear of any debris or clutter.
- Starters and Marshals must be punctual and able to work flexible hours due to ever changing hours of operation and times of need
- Starters and marshals may also be asked to assist in tournament set up, which would include pulling out and setting up carts for various events at the club.
- Refer all major problems/complaints to a manager and/or assistant manager.
- Perform other duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS
- Flexible availability including days, nights, weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to clearly communicate Member needs to other Team Members.
- Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Minimum Age 16 with valid drivers license
- Ability to Stand 6-8 Hours
- A positive attitude while on the job is also essential.
