Job Description:
As a Freight Broker, you’ll play a critical role in managing day-to-day brokerage operations, carrier relationships, and shipment execution. This position requires strong communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills to ensure freight moves safely, efficiently, and profitably.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage carrier assignment, driver dispatching, and daily load execution.
  • Build and maintain strong carrier relationships to ensure reliable capacity.
  • Negotiate carrier rates and manage costs in a dynamic freight market.
  • Proactively track shipments and communicate updates to customers.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT laws, regulations, and internal procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments, quotes, and carrier performance.

Experience and Requirements:
  • 2+ years of experience in truckload dispatch or freight brokerage operations.
  • Solid understanding of DOT laws and transportation compliance.
  • Experience using freight booking platforms (e.g., Truckstop, DAT).
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to adapt to market changes.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Reliable, self-starter with strong time management and problem-solving abilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, or related field preferred.
  • Experience managing carrier networks or dedicated fleets preferred.
  • Positive customer feedback or proven success in meeting service KPIs preferred.
