Weekend Fly In Fly Out information

What are Weekend Fly In Fly Out jobs?

Weekend Fly In Fly Out (FIFO) jobs are roles where employees travel to a work site, typically in remote or regional locations, for the weekend or short periods, then return home. This type of schedule is common in industries like mining, oil and gas, or construction, where work sites are distant from major cities. Workers usually fly into the site for their shift, stay in employer-provided accommodation, and fly back home at the end of their roster. This arrangement allows employees to maintain a work-life balance while accessing job opportunities in remote areas.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Weekend Fly In Fly Out (FIFO) worker, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Weekend Fly In Fly Out worker, you typically need relevant trade or technical certifications, physical fitness, and experience in remote or resource sector environments. Familiarity with specialized equipment, safety protocols, and compliance systems like site inductions and reporting tools is crucial. Strong adaptability, teamwork, and resilience help individuals succeed in the demanding, often isolated FIFO lifestyle. These skills and qualities are vital to ensure safety, productivity, and well-being while working in challenging and remote locations.

What are some common challenges faced by Weekend Fly In Fly Out (FIFO) workers and how can they be managed?

Weekend Fly In Fly Out (FIFO) workers often face challenges such as adjusting to frequent travel, managing time away from family, and maintaining a healthy work-life balance. The rotating schedule can be demanding, with early flights and long shifts, which may impact rest and personal routines. Building a strong support network, staying organized, and making the most of on-site amenities can help manage these challenges. Employers often provide resources like counseling and recreational facilities to support FIFO workers' well-being.

What is the difference between Weekend Fly In Fly Out vs Weekday Shift Worker?

Job description

Do You Want to Build Something That Matters?

We’re hiring a Director of Marketing.
Not to run campaigns — to build and own a growth engine that scales.

A note from Trey Fly, President

If you’re casually skimming job postings, this role probably isn’t for you.

But if you’re a strategic marketer who wants real ownership — the chance to shape a brand, influence company strategy, and build something meaningful from the ground up — this could be the most exciting role of your career.

Joe W. Fly Co. is a fast-growing, Texas-based commercial and industrial air-filtration company with a 60+ year reputation, 15+ branches, and an aggressive growth plan. We’re redefining how our industry thinks about clean air, customer partnerships, and long-term value through innovations like our proprietary TrueSeal filtration system. This role will help turn that momentum into a disciplined, measurable go-to-market engine with real business impact.

We’re looking for a senior marketing leader ready to take the reins. This is not an entry-level role or a “keep-the-lights-on” marketing position. It’s a leadership opportunity for someone who wants ownership, influence, and the chance to build a scalable marketing platform inside a respected, values-driven company.

We care deeply about integrity, performance, and treating people like family. We take growth seriously — and we take doing things the right way just as seriously.

If you’re strategic, data-driven, creative, and energized by building something that lasts, I’d love to talk.

— Trey Fly
President, Joe W. Fly Co.

Who We Are

Joe W. Fly Co. is a leading commercial and industrial air-filtration distributor and service provider headquartered in Austin, Texas, with operations across Texas and the South.

Our mission is simple: improving life’s most basic need — clean air.

We partner with hospitals, schools, manufacturers, data centers, and major facilities to deliver healthier indoor air, lower operating costs, and ensure long-term reliability.

Our core values guide everything we do:

  • We are easy to do business with
  • We deliver unique, cost-saving solutions
  • We keep our promises and exceed expectations
  • We share success through profit-sharing and accountability

The Role

This is a senior leadership role with full ownership of the marketing function.

You’ll set the strategy, build the roadmap, and lead execution — partnering closely with sales, operations, and executive leadership to drive brand strength, inbound demand, customer retention, and long-term growth.

This role is expected to drive measurable impact within the first 6–12 months, helping build a scalable marketing engine that supports long-term growth.

You won’t just influence campaigns — you’ll shape how we go to market, drive growth, and define our brand in the market.

What You’ll Own

Growth & Revenue Acceleration

  • Own inbound lead generation strategy across digital channels
  • Lead Google Ads, SEO, and conversion optimization
  • Build scalable campaigns tied directly to revenue and performance metrics

Brand, Campaigns & Product Launches

  • Own brand positioning, messaging, and storytelling
  • Lead advertising campaigns and major product launches, including proprietary products

Digital & Analytics Leadership

  • Own website strategy, optimization, and future redesigns
  • Lead future e-commerce initiatives
  • Track performance through dashboards, analytics, and ROI reporting

Sales Enablement & Go-To-Market Support

  • Create and manage all sales collateral (digital and print)
  • Partner with sales leadership on presentations, training, and go-to-market tools

Content, Social & Brand Reputation

  • Lead social media strategy and execution
  • Build thought leadership, case studies, testimonials, and ongoing content pipelines

Events & Trade Shows

  • Own trade show strategy, branding, booth design, and execution

Customer Retention & Voice of Customer

  • Build and manage customer surveys, feedback loops, and retention initiatives
  • Translate customer insights into actionable growth and positioning strategies

What It Takes

This is not an entry-level role. We are looking for a proven leader — not a junior marketer. This role requires making decisions confidently, prioritizing ruthlessly, and being accountable for results.

You bring:

  • 8+ years of progressive marketing experience (B2B strongly preferred)
  • Experience leading integrated marketing across demand gen, brand, and sales enablement
  • Strong background in analytics, performance marketing, and ROI measurement
  • A track record of building or scaling marketing functions
  • Strategic thinking with hands-on execution ability
  • Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills

Bonus points for experience in:

  • Industrial, manufacturing, facilities, HVAC, or technical B2B markets
  • Product launches and go-to-market strategy
  • Building marketing infrastructure from the ground up

Why This Role Is Different

  • Make work that’s visible, meaningful, and directly shapes the company’s success
  • Direct access to executive leadership and company strategy
  • Full ownership of the marketing engine — not just one channel
  • The chance to shape a fast-growing brand inside a stable, profitable company
  • Long-term career growth as the company scales
  • A strong, family-oriented culture with values-driven leadership

Compensation & Location

  • Starting salary: $100,000+ (commensurate with experience and competitive for senior-level B2B marketing leadership roles)
  • Performance incentives and growth opportunities available
  • Based in our Austin, Texas headquarters
