Weekend Fly In Fly Out information

What is a weekend fly in fly out?

Weekend Fly In Fly Out (FIFO) jobs are roles where employees travel to a work site, typically in remote or regional locations, for the weekend or short periods, then return home. This type of schedule is common in industries like mining, oil and gas, or construction, where work sites are distant from major cities. Workers usually fly into the site for their shift, stay in employer-provided accommodation, and fly back home at the end of their roster. This arrangement allows employees to maintain a work-life balance while accessing job opportunities in remote areas.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a weekend fly in fly out worker?

To thrive as a Weekend Fly In Fly Out worker, you typically need relevant trade or technical certifications, physical fitness, and experience in remote or resource sector environments. Familiarity with specialized equipment, safety protocols, and compliance systems like site inductions and reporting tools is crucial. Strong adaptability, teamwork, and resilience help individuals succeed in the demanding, often isolated FIFO lifestyle. These skills and qualities are vital to ensure safety, productivity, and well-being while working in challenging and remote locations.

What are common challenges faced by weekend fly in fly out workers and how can they be managed?

Weekend Fly In Fly Out (FIFO) workers often face challenges such as adjusting to frequent travel, managing time away from family, and maintaining a healthy work-life balance. The rotating schedule can be demanding, with early flights and long shifts, which may impact rest and personal routines. Building a strong support network, staying organized, and making the most of on-site amenities can help manage these challenges. Employers often provide resources like counseling and recreational facilities to support FIFO workers' well-being.

Job description

Description
We are seeking an experienced full-cycle (prospect to close to renewal) account executive to join our team and bring Shade to the best customers and achieve our revenue targets of 2026. The ideal person is an ambitious and strategic individual - managed books effectively, constantly attained and exceeded quotas, and most importantly loved everything about working with customers - especially creative businesses. This person is flexible, willing to grow with the company and its sales process and also help build prospecting and renewal processes. This position plays a super critical role in improving the operational efficiency of the business.
What's our mission?
Shade is scaling and fast. In a year and half, we've built out the combined tech of FrameIO (acq by Adobe for $1.275B) and LucidLink ($40M ARR) while combining it with proprietary AI search/labeling. We handle thousands of hours of video and tens of millions of requests every day, and we're a critical piece of infrastructure for post-production houses, creative agencies, sports teams, and internal media teams at large companies. Customers include Salesforce, Snowflake, Grüns, Hello Fresh, Deloitte, Motorola, Stagwell Media Group, and Lennar. We're growing 150% QoQ, 120% NRR.
Backed by Khosla, General Catalyst, Contrary, Signalfire and Bling
Responsibilities
  • With oversight of the CEO, create and manage a growing account book from prospecting to renewal
  • Run personalized demo calls with customers, fly out to meet clients, and assist in onboarding and monthly checkins
  • Provide oversight and suggestions to marketing and product roadmaps, compliance, and timelines
  • Build sales documentation, sales collateral, and event planning in conjunction with the marketing team
  • Internal and external documentation work for the team
  • Continue to hone pipeline process, stages, and management, and adequate forecasting of revenue
  • Work closely with multiple cross functional teams to put the customer's needs first
Qualifications
  • 3+ years as an Account Executive preferably in the M&E software space
  • Quick learner and wiling to do the work from cold email and calling, flying, to closing and renewal
  • Able to manage their own book and find innovative ways to attain quota and delight customers
  • Creative thinking and communication
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
  • Cares about the customer the most and what is best for them (which might not always be the most amount of commission)
  • Remote or In-Person (preference In-Person in Tri-State Area)
  • Willing to travel for deals and tradeshows
How we work
Our team is flexible, works quickly, and is always interested in new technologies and ideas to accelerate development and improve our processes.
Perks!
You are more than "shareholder value." We build our team around personal investment and ambition, so we offer benefits like:
  • Office snacks, free lunch, comp-ed dinners
  • Full health insurance (w. dental & vision), 401k with % match
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Lifetime gym membership
  • Commuter cards for subway/bus -> we work in-person
  • ^^ You'll want to work in-person! We are fun! Our office is cool!

And, of course, these are in addition to salary and equity. At Shade, you are the "shareholder."
