Cath Lab Tech

Job Title: Cath Lab Tech

Profession: Radiology / Cardiology Specialty: Cath Lab Tech

Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: Day

Hours per Shift: 10 hours

Experience: Minimum 2 years required.

License: Required.

Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CCI RCIS.

Must-Have: Diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab experience required. IR experience preferred. First-time travelers are welcome. Call is required—12 days in an 8-week schedule. Weekends and holidays may be needed.

Description: The Cath Lab Tech will be responsible for performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in the cardiac catheterization lab. Candidates must be flexible with scheduling and understand the strict policy regarding tardiness and unexcused absences. Call is required after hours during the week and on weekends. Candidates will be assigned to be on call for 2-3 weekends during an 8-week period. When on call during a weekend, the coverage is from Friday to Monday. The role may involve working with diverse patient populations, including adults and geriatrics. The Cath Lab Tech will be expected to perform various procedures such as angioplasty, cardiac stent placements, and other catheterizations. Candidates must be proficient in sterile techniques, equipment setup, and recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias. Compliance with all necessary requirements and documentation will be mandatory for this position. Candidates must be prepared for an EKG exam during the compliance process. Travelers should be prepared to float to different campuses if needed. Study materials for the EKG exam are not provided, so candidates should prepare accordingly. This position requires accurate monitoring and adherence to safety protocols in a fast-paced environment. The candidate should also be familiar with the use of various medical technologies and techniques in cardiovascular care.
