SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Farm Manager, and in conjunction with the SingleThread Team, the Farmer position works to achieve the company’s objectives in the production of fruit, vegetables, herbs, flowers, honey, and eggs, and maintaining our farm property.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Fieldwork: planting, weeding, mulching, irrigation, spraying, pest/disease management, seed collecting
  • Greenhouse work: sowing, thinning, potting up, propagation
  • Harvesting & post- harvest handling: washing, sorting, packing
  • Ensure Kaizen mentality in quality of farm produce and self
  • Consistent, thorough, and timely communication with peers and management
Requirements:

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English at a basic level
  • Highly responsible & reliable
  • Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimum supervision
  • Completing assigned tasks in a timely manner as outlined by the Farm leadership team
  • The ability to stand, walk, stoop, bend, push/pull, crouch, crawl, reach with hands and arms, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move 50 pounds
  • Continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills
  • Flexible schedule to include weekends, holidays and extended hours as business needs arise
