Lead Farm & Hatchery Technician
Clanton & Ashland, AL | Full-Time | Travel Between Locations Required
Automation Personnel Services is hiring a Lead Poultry Farm & Hatchery Technician for a growing poultry operation supporting facilities in Clanton, AL and Ashland, AL. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone with farm, maintenance, mechanical, construction, or agricultural experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and taking ownership of daily operations.

Lead Farm & Hatchery Technician- Duties and Responsibilities
As the Lead Poultry Farm & Hatchery Technician, you will play a key role in maintaining efficient farm and hatchery operations while supporting animal health and production standards.
 
  • Lead and support daily farm and hatchery operations 
  • Work directly with eggs, chicks, and live poultry 
  • Monitor poultry housing, egg handling, and hatchery processes 
  • Perform mechanical, electrical, structural, and equipment repairs 
  • Troubleshoot farm and hatchery equipment issues 
  • Assist with construction projects, facility improvements, and preventive maintenance 
  • Ensure equipment and facilities operate safely and efficiently 
  • Maintain strict biosecurity, safety, and animal welfare standards 
  • Coordinate and travel between Clanton and Ashland locations 
  • Support weekend operations when necessary
 
Lead Farm & Hatchery Technician- Requirements and Qualifications
  • Previous farm, poultry, hatchery, or agricultural experience preferred 
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on maintenance skills 
  • Experience with electrical work, construction, or equipment repair 
  • Ability to work around live poultry and hatchery environments 
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record 
  • Ability to travel between job sites 
  • Ability to lift, perform manual labor, and work around farm equipment 
  • Strong problem-solving and leadership abilities
Important Biosecurity Requirements
To protect animal health and maintain facility standards:
  • Candidates must not own birds or have outside exposure to birds 
  • Strict compliance with all biosecurity protocols is required
