Position Title: Associate Speaker Department: Ministries
Employment Status: Full Time Exempt Job Classification

Position Summary:
The Associate Speaker assists the ministry's Speaker/Director with his/her functions and duties as enumerated below. Must have a Christ-centered biblical studies approach to hermeneutics and homiletics in accordance with the goals of the Jesus 101 Biblical Institute.
Authority and Accountability:
Authority as delegated by the Speaker/Director. Responsible for assisting in the direction of Jesus 101 in accordance with the ministry's goals and the Adventist Media Ministries and the Executive Board policies and objectives.
Essential Position Functions:
  • Writing, speaking, and production for telecast/broadcast and social media.
  • Public speaking engagements, training ministers and leaders in Christ-centered hermeneutics.
  • Writing for creating new materials, resources, and content for Jesus 101.
  • Writing for development, donor letters, promotional pieces, advertising.
  • Co-hosting television and radio programming as needed.
  • Hosting or co-hosting public relations, donor-related, or constituent events.
  • Strategic planning for Jesus 101's direction and upcoming projects.

Specific Position Functions:
  • Social media, website, podcasts, production content creation for various media venues, development, and quality control in conjunction with Manager and Speaker/Director.
  • Speaking engagements as needed, using Jesus-centered hermeneutical and homiletical methods.

Position Specification:
Qualifications, Scope, and Complexity of Duties:
  • Experience:
    • A minimum of five years of ministry-related experience, with a focus in media and evangelism.
    • Ordained or commissioned minister.
  • Education:
    • Completion of a bachelor's degree at an accredit college or university.
    • Completion of master's degree at an accredit college or university.
    • PhD or D. Min. preferred.
  • Requirements:
    • Must be a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in good standing.
    • Must have a Christ-centered emphasis in the interpretation of the Bible.
    • Proficient in Biblical Studies, both Old Testament and New Testament.
    • Ordained or Commissioned minister of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
    • Proficient and up-to-date knowledge of not-for-profit accounting in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
    • NAD policy as well as any other laws, regulations and rules governing the employment of staff, work requirements, and employee relationships.
    • Knowledgeable with office computer equipment, general office software, use of databases and social media platforms
    • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
    • Must be bilingual (English and Spanish).
