Job description

Rocky Mountain Laser and Surgery Center is the premier surgery centers in Pueblo, Colorado offering outstanding patient care in a comfortable environment to the southern Colorado community. We hold ourselves to the highest of standards, as our center is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). Patient satisfaction is our primary goal.
We are currently searching for a Fulltime Registered Nurse Pre OP/PACU to work Monday - Friday, 72 hours per pay period, who can work cooperatively with staff and physicians to perform a variety of tasks. Major Responsibilities: include providing patient care throughout the surgical/procedure process; pre-procedure admission and assessment and post-procedure assessment and recovery. Responsible for monitoring the patient's condition and vital signs; and actively participates in all Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement activities.
Responsibilities:

  • Provide nursing care to a diverse population
  • Coordinate patient care, including admission, planned surgery, discharge, transfer to higher level of care and any appropriate referrals. Assess, monitor and communicate to the provider changes in condition and potential or actual problems.
  • Assess the patient, reviews patient's medical record and required documents to ensure all information consistent with the planned procedure and patient's confirmation, ensuring pre-requisites and preferences are met. Provide education, discharge planning and intervention to ensure positive patient outcomes.
  • Document all interventions and activities per standards of care. Ensures safety checklists, interventions and procedures are implemented and documented as appropriate.
  • Perform and documents pre/post procedure assessment/evaluation/education of patient.
  • Responds to life threatening situations utilizing nursing standards and protocols for treatment.
  • Act in accordance with the vision, mission, and business philosophy of the Center.
  • Overall patient engagement and experience, including the Center's Patient Satisfaction performance.
  • Adhere to the Center's professional conduct policies.
  • Maintain patient, physician, and employee privacy and confidentiality.
  • Perform related work and other duties as required.
Requirements:
  • Minimum Experience: 6 months of Pre Op/PACU
  • Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program.
  • Preferred: bachelor's degree in nursing.
  • State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Required BLS/ACLS/PALS
  • Demonstrated ability to handle complex and at times stressful situations in a calm, professional manner.
Other Qualifications:
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks effectively and efficiently while maintaining a professional, courteous manner. Must be able to work well with others. Strong verbal and written communication skills required. Must be detail oriented and organized. High integrity, including maintenance of confidential information. Must be able to exercise good judgment.

Must pass a background check and drug screen.
The pay range for this position is: $38.00 - $60.00 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
