Primary Function
The Quality Data Analyst is responsible for collecting, validating, analyzing, and reporting quality-related data from multiple internal systems to enable data-driven decisions and continuous improvement within the organization. This role develops and maintains quality metrics and dashboards that support AS9100 AND AS9110 compliance, customer requirements, and operational performance objectives.
Essential Duties
  • Collect, consolidate, and validate quality data from sources such as NCRs, MRB, FAI, in-process inspection, audit findings, supplier performance reports, and customer returns.
  • Monitor data quality (completeness, accuracy, consistency) and work with process owners to resolve discrepancies and improve data integrity.
  • Develop, maintain, and publish quality KPIs and scorecards (e.g., defects, scrap and rework, escapes, audit nonconformities, supplier performance, on-time delivery).
  • Build, maintain, and enhance recurring and ad-hoc reports and dashboards in tools such as Excel and Power BI to support management reviews and daily/weekly tier meetings.
  • Perform trend, Pareto, and root-cause-support analysis to identify systemic issues and opportunities for corrective and preventive actions.
  • Partners with Quality Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain to translate data insights into improvement projects and formal CAPAs.
  • Document data definitions, reporting logic, and data flows to support data governance and repeatable reporting within the Quality Management System.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing quality performance data, evidence files, and metrics packs.
  • Identify opportunities to automate data collection, data transformation, and report generation to reduce manual effort and cycle time.
  • Provide basic training and guidance to team members on data entry standards, use of quality reports/dashboards, and interpretation of metrics.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the Quality and Operational Excellence functions.

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
  • May provide work direction, data guidance, and informal mentoring to other quality personnel.

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and translate them into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookup functions, advanced formulas, charts) and experience with business intelligence/reporting tools specifically Power BI.
  • Working knowledge of databases and data querying concepts (e.g., SQL, views, joins) sufficient to extract and merge data from multiple systems.
  • Understanding of quality tools and concepts such as Pareto analysis, SPC, control charts, capability indices, 8D, 5-Why, and FMEA.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 or AS9110 quality system requirements and associated documentation practices.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present data and conclusions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • High attention to detail, organization, and follow-through, with a commitment to data accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving mindset and continuous improvement orientation.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Business, Information Systems, or related field; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • Two (2) or more years of experience in a data analyst, reporting, business intelligence, or quality engineering/quality analyst role, preferably in manufacturing, aerospace, or defense.
  • Demonstrated experience cleaning, validating, and reconciling data from multiple sources and producing accurate, repeatable reports.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications with strong emphasis on Excel and Power BI or comparable BI tools is strongly preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance
