Campus Safety Coordinator (Weekend)
Department: Campus Safety & Security
Schedule: Saturdays & Sundays (8:00am-6:00pm)
Status: Part-Time / Non-Exempt
The Weekend Campus Safety Coordinator is a hybrid role responsible for maintaining a secure, accessible, and operational campus environment during weekend hours. Combining active security oversight with proactive facilities triage, this position serves as the primary on-duty point of contact for physical safety, building operations, and urgent maintenance needs when standard administrative departments are closed.
Key Responsibilities
Safety & Security Operations
  • Monitor campus-wide security camera networks.
  • Lock and unlock buildings, classrooms, and labs according to weekend event schedules.
  • Conduct visual inspections of campus grounds and buildings to deter improper activity and identify safety hazards.
  • Serve as the first responder to campus emergencies or security incidents, coordinating with local emergency services (police, fire, EMS) as required.
  • Document security incidents on standard department forms.
  • Deliver professional, helpful customer service to students, faculty, and campus visitors seeking assistance.

Physical Security Triage
  • Perform initial troubleshooting and emergency containment for facilities issues (e.g., shutting off water valves during pipe bursts).
  • Notify facilities and coordinate facilities technicians or vendor contractors for urgent repairs, if requested.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in safety, facilities management, or property maintenance.
