What is a Weekend Epic Credentialed Trainer?

A Weekend Epic Credentialed Trainer is a professional who is certified to teach users how to use the Epic electronic health record (EHR) system, specifically during weekend shifts. They conduct training sessions for clinicians, staff, and other users to ensure they are proficient in using Epic's software modules. These trainers are credentialed by Epic after completing specialized training and assessments. Their role is essential for supporting healthcare organizations during system implementations, upgrades, or ongoing education, especially when weekday coverage is limited.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Weekend Epic Credentialed Trainer?

To thrive as a Weekend Epic Credentialed Trainer, you need in-depth knowledge of Epic software, strong instructional abilities, and typically an Epic credentialing certification. Familiarity with Epic modules, learning management systems, and virtual training platforms is often required. Excellent communication, patience, and adaptability are essential soft skills for effectively teaching diverse user groups and troubleshooting on the fly. These skills ensure end-users are proficient with Epic tools, promoting efficient healthcare workflows and minimizing errors during weekend training sessions.

What are some common challenges faced by Weekend Epic Credentialed Trainers, and how can these be managed effectively?

Weekend Epic Credentialed Trainers often face the challenge of engaging learners who may have varying levels of familiarity with the Epic system, especially during condensed weekend sessions. Additionally, balancing the need to cover required content while allowing time for questions can be difficult in a limited timeframe.
