Description:
About the Role
We're looking for an Environmental Technician to join our team and help keep our retail fuel and bulk plant locations in compliance with state and federal environmental regulations. If you're detail-oriented, comfortable working in the field, and want a hands-on role that makes a real difference in environmental safety, we'd love to hear from you.
In this role, you'll work closely with our Environmental Manager to conduct inspections, take readings, collect samples, and keep our compliance records accurate and up to date across multiple sites in Georgia, Florida, and Alabama.
What You'll Do
Inspections & Field Compliance
  • Conduct or assist with internal 30-day compliance inspections at assigned locations
  • Document and report inspection findings to the Environmental Manager
  • Help follow up on inspection results and corrective actions
  • Support outside contractors during scheduled compliance testing visits

Monitoring & Sampling
  • Take and record monthly Cathodic Protection System readings
  • Assist with well water testing and ice sampling at assigned locations
  • Collect data supporting state compliance reports

Systems & Site Support
  • Help maintain accurate site profiles, including tanks, lines, and leak detection equipment
  • Support scheduling of maintenance for septic systems, grease traps, and oil/water separator systems
  • Help track dispenser measuring device registrations across Georgia, Florida, and Alabama

Administrative Support
  • Maintain organized records of permits, registrations, and certifications
  • Assist with state correspondence and remediation report documentation
  • Help track certification renewal deadlines

What We're Looking For
  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Environmental Science or a related field is a plus
  • 1-3 years of experience in environmental compliance, facilities maintenance, or a related field preferred
  • Basic knowledge of underground/aboveground storage tank (UST/AST) systems and environmental testing procedures is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and good record-keeping habits
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record required
  • Comfortable working independently in the field with minimal supervision
  • Willingness to travel regularly between store and bulk plant locations

Physical Requirements
  • Regular travel to store and bulk plant locations
  • Standing, bending, kneeling, and walking for extended periods during site visits
  • Occasional lifting up to 40 lbs (sampling equipment, tools, materials)
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Comfortable working around fuel systems, tanks, and related equipment

Why Join Us
This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to build a career in environmental compliance within a growing, multi-state retail and fuel organization. You'll get hands-on experience across a wide range of environmental systems and regulatory areas, with room to grow alongside our Environmental Manager.
We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
