Experienced Product Review Engineer (Liaison Engineer)

Boeing Defense & Space (BDS) is currently looking for a ExperiencedProduct Review Engineer (Liaison Engineer) to join the Patriot Advanced Capability 3 (PAC-3) team located in Huntsville, AL. This unique position is seeking engineers with Material Review and Disposition experience, to perform/support troubleshooting of non-conformances, RCCA technical analysis and provide solutions to non-conforming products. This position will work directly with cross-functional and production engineering teams to meet production program objectives.
Boeing Defense, Space & Security's (BDS) Patriot Advanced Capability (PAC-3) program is an air-defense, missile system designed to counter tactical ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and advanced aircraft where Boeing is the original engineering manufacturer of the seeker. Boeing's seekers provide active data to the PAC-3 missile which enables it to acquire, intercept and destroy threats using hit-to-kill technology. The PAC-3 Seeker team is a cross functional, highly skilled, motivated group embracing the beliefs that focused safety, execution, LEAN manufacturing and business practices will secure our future and well-being, driving our product to be the seeker of choice for the PAC-3 program and future generations of weapon systems.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Performing SPC reviews and Seeker Troubleshooting
  • Applies basic knowledge of Boeing design and/or engineering principles to develop interim or final engineering solutions to product/process issues throughout the production lifecycle
  • Analyzes, conducts root cause analysis and develops dispositions for design non-conformances
  • Applies engineering principles to research technical, operational and quality issues to develop interim and final engineering solutions
  • Provides written dispositions for routine design non-conformances
  • Participates in Material Review Boards (As Required)
  • Represents the engineering community in the production environment, providing lineside support
  • Recommends simple non-destructive test procedures, tools, standards
  • Ensures supplier and build partner compliance with Boeing standards
  • Develops and implements product/process improvements
  • This position may require shift flexibility, based on business needs
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays as needed, based on business needs
  • Non-standard work week options may also be utilized to meet business objectives

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • Knowledge of repair concepts and methodologies including standard repair processes, component repair concepts, structural and composite repair procedures, electrical repair procedures, and basic system repair processes
  • 2+ years of experience with Material Review Board / Liaison Engineering (MRB / LE) Authority (including participating in Material Review Board and Integrated Product Team activities related to repairs)
  • Willing to work variable shifts, including weekends and overtime if required

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):
  • 5+ year Material Review Board Certification experience
  • 5+ years of experience gathering data and performing a Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA)
  • 5+ years Production engineering experience with relevant technological knowledge
  • Experience in solving simple to complex problems
  • 5+ years Electrical/mechanical system knowledge, troubleshooting, fault isolation, and repair methodology
  • Knowledge of circuit card manufacturing, including Selective Solder and SMT
  • 5 + years Functional system level testing

Typical Experience:
Level 3: 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications
Level 4: 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications

Level 3: $103,700 - $140,300
Level 4: $126,650 - $171,350
