  • Review and analyze test data outputs to identify failures in components such as front-end boards, acquisition boards, and motherboards.
  • Make informed technical decisions on whether to repair or swap boards.
  • Coordinate with assemblers for board removal and installation, and with calibration operators for re-testing.
  • Ensure instruments pass testing, are shipped back, and customers are billed.
  • Diagnose, analyze, troubleshoot, and repair equipment at the modular and component levels.
  • Communicate repair trends, product failures, and recurring issues to relevant teams.
  • Interface directly with customers requiring repair or limited calibration support.
  • Escalate unusual or complex product issues to engineering or specialized support groups.
  • Complete calibration data sheets with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Maintain documentation for customer requirements, quality records, ISO compliance, and reporting systems.

Essential Skills

  • Formal electronics foundation with an Associate’s degree in Electronics or Engineering Technology, technical trade school, or military technical experience. Bachelors degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering will also be considered if someone is committed to a Technician start to their career path.
  • Understanding of general electronics fundamentals.
  • Ability to perform logical and algorithmic troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in repair, engineering, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with electronics, schematics, and mechanical systems.
  • Experience with test and measurement equipment, and automated testing procedures.
  • Strong data-driven troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to interpret test data and understand block diagrams.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in a service environment.
  • Customer-facing communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Tektronix, Keysight, or Anritsu instruments.
  • Open to new graduates from strong programs or early-career technicians with solid fundamentals and great growth mindsets.
