Graduate Opportunity

• Graduate Engineer Development Program (GEDP)
  GEDP is a one-year Indianapolis-based rotational program that focuses on developing technical problem-solving and leadership skills. Engineers will spend time in each of INDOT’s engineering departments and upon completion of the program, will transition into their choice of assignment at INDOT; based on availability of positions, supervisor assessments, and the engineer’s preference. The goal of the GEDP is to support the engineer’s ability to learn as much about on-the-job civil engineering as possible, as well as fostering professional development and connecting the engineer with INDOT’s wide network of civil engineering professionals. The GEDP is designed for INDOT’s future leaders. 

We’re looking for entry-level civil engineers who aren’t done learning, who want to start their career by contributing to the bigger picture. Does that sound like you? If so, we’re looking for you! 

Opportunities for Current Students

• Governor’s Summer Internship (GSI)
  The Governor’s Summer Internship (GSI) is Indiana’s statewide initiative that gives college students meaningful hands-on experience working with INDOT and other state agencies. This program gives students an opportunity to work alongside INDOT professionals and explore careers in public service. INDOT offers the following summer internships, civil engineering, project management, communications, finance, human resources, information technology, legal services, real estate and more. 
• INDOT Engineering Scholarship (IES)
  The INDOT Engineering Scholarship (IES) program is designed to support and develop future civil engineers who want to make a meaningful impact on Indiana’s transportation infrastructure. Each year, INDOT awards a select number of scholarships to students enrolled full-time in ABET-accredited civil engineering programs across the state. Recipients receive $3,125 per semester or $2,083 per trimester, totaling $6,250 per academic year. They may receive up to five years of support, with no more than two years applied toward graduate studies.

• Graduate Engineer Development Program (GEDP): Indianapolis
• Governor’s Summer Internship (GSI): LaPorte, Fort Wayne, Vincennes, Seymour, Crawfordsville, Greenfield, INDOT’s Central Office (Indianapolis) and additional satellite locations. 
• INDOT Engineering Scholarship (IES): Statewide placements across Indiana, depending on internship assignment and division needs
